The following is just one story of many representing a “Mosaic Moment” highlighting the experiences of our patients and staff. Thank you to Michael for sharing his story.
Michael is sixty years old and had been searching for a primary care provider (PCP) he can connect with for years. He has a physically demanding job and at times his health has kept him out of work. Recently he went to urgent care for back issues that were making getting out of bed in the morning difficult. He waited for hours to see a provider, and when he was finally able to see someone they weren’t able to help him.
Through a mutual friend he heard that he should reach out to Mosaic to get established with a PCP. He called Mosaic to set up an appointment, and within a few weeks Michael was seen at Conners Health Center in Bend by certified Physician Assistant, Christopher.
At that appointment Michael was amazed by the care he received. He felt listened to and the team was able to address his issues that same day, including filling urgent medications he had been waiting for. He was able to establish care at his new medical home and begin to address his medical concerns. During his initial appointment Michael also met with a Mosaic Community Health Worker and they helped him enroll in OHP and access many resources that he would have not otherwise known about.
Within a couple days of his appointment Michael was able to get back to work and felt more like himself. He feels as though an enormous burden has been lifted off him and is thankful he reached out to Mosaic.
