The Meet Mosaic Series introduces members of our team to the community. Today please meet Virginia Olea, RDH.
Hi, I am a dental hygienist here at Mosaic. I’ve been with Mosaic for six years. I help patients keep their mouths healthy by cleaning their teeth, letting them know about the issues I see in their mouths, and educating them about the importance of good oral home care.

Q: What do you like most about working at Mosaic?
Mosaic serves the population most dear to my heart. Growing up we did not have insurance, so going to the dentist or doctor was limited to when pain happened. I am so thankful that Mosaic is here, and able to help those who may not other wise be cared for.

Q: What does an average day at work look like for you?
I see a variety of patients from children to adults. Some patients have been coming regularly for years and others have not seen a dentist or dental hygienist in a very long time or ever.

Q: Where did you grow up? How long have you been in Central Oregon?
Carson City, Nevada is where I lived when I was young. We moved to Oregon when I was 13. I graduated from Medford Senior High School. I have lived in the Madras area for about 33 years. I love this area, it is beautiful and dry, but with enough water to play in.

Q: Can you tell us about your family life?
My husband I and have been together about 33 years. We have three children and nine grandchildren.

Q: What are some things that most people don’t know about you?
We have a small farm. It is more like a market garden with animals. My husband grows vegetables, raises chickens for eggs that we sell at the farmers market and to our delivery customers. I give him a hand on the days I am not working here.
