El primer examen pediátrico del recién nacido en el hospital
Después de dar a luz a su bebé en St. Charles Bend o en el centro de parto familiar de Madras, uno de nuestros proveedores pediátricos le visitará a usted y a su recién nacido para realizar un examen completo. Una evaluación física completa asegurará de que su bebé está sano e incluye:
- El puntaje de apgar: es uno de los primeros chequeos de la salud de tu bebé. Se asigna en los primeros minutos después del nacimiento y ayuda a identificar a los bebés que tienen dificultades para respirar o que tienen algún problema que requiere más atención. Revisamos la frecuencia cardíaca y respiratoria, el tono muscular, los reflejos y el color del bebé al minuto y a los cinco minutos de nacer.
- Prueba de proyección para recién nacidos: un análisis de sangre especial para detectar afecciones raras. Aunque la mayoría de los bebés no padecen estas afecciones, su detección temprana puede ayudar al médico a proporcionar orientación y opciones de tratamiento eficaces.
- El peso al nacer es un indicador importante de la salud de tu bebé recién nacido. En el hospital, los bebés se pesan a diario.
- Medidas como la circunferencia de la cabeza, la circunferencia abdominal y la longitud.
- Signos vitales, incluyendo la temperatura, el pulso y la frecuencia respiratoria.
Todas estas evaluaciones nos ayudan a conocer el bienestar de tu bebé al nacer para poder ofrecerte la mejor atención posible.
La primera consulta pediátrica de tu bebé
Una vez que se haya acostumbrado en la nueva paternidad, queremos verle a usted y a su bebé en nuestro consultorio en un plazo de 3 a 5 días después del parto. En esta primera visita de bienestar infantil, su proveedor responderá a cualquier pregunta o preocupación que tenga, así como realizar un examen físico completo que incluye:
- Tomar medidas y registrar el peso del bebé
- Revisando la curación del muñón umbilical
- Buscando ictericia del recién nacido
También revisamos los primeros peldaños del desarrollo, como los reflejos de enraizamiento y de succión.
