Recent news about vaccine schedules for children and teens may have raised questions for families.
At Mosaic Community Health, our vaccine recommendations have not changed. We follow guidance from trusted medical and public health experts, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the West Coast Health Alliance and the Oregon Health Authority. These groups use strong science, careful safety checks and have a focus on keeping children and families healthy.
Vaccines help protect children and our community from serious illness. Starting vaccines early in life helps keep dangerous diseases from spreading. Babies and young children are more likely to get very sick from these illnesses. When more people are vaccinated, it also helps protect people who cannot get vaccines, such as those getting cancer treatment or living with certain immune conditions.
