Mosaic Welcomes New Chief Health Officer

Bernadette Thomas, APRN, DNP, MPH brings extensive provider and leadership experience

Mosaic Community Health recently welcomed a new Chief Health Officer. Bernadette Thomas, APRN, DNP, MPH brings over 18 years of experience and expertise to the Mosaic team. Thomas has served highly diverse populations as a full-time primary care provider for eight years and for an additional ten years in healthcare leadership positions.

“Bernadette’s extensive background as both a provider and leader in community health, working with integrated care teams, will be invaluable in guiding our organization toward further achieving our mission to provide trusted quality care, with compassion and support for all,” said Mosaic CEO, Megan Haase, FNP.

Thomas received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and her Master of Science in Nursing and Master of Public Health from Yale School of Nursing. She provides healthcare in both English and Spanish.

“I am honored to have this opportunity to join the Mosaic team and be a part of delivering whole-person care to our patients,” said Thomas. “I share with Mosaic an orientation to community, a commitment to cultural humility and responsiveness, and the belief that the delivery of holistic, integrated and team-based care is fundamental to achieving health equity among Central Oregonians.”

As the Chief Health Officer for Mosaic, Thomas will be accountable for the establishment, development and execution of integrated clinical services across the organization. As a member of the executive team, she will provide leadership for Mosaic’s Clinic Medical Directors, Director of Behavioral Health, Dental Director and Director of Pharmacy Services. Thomas will also provide direct patient care in our primary care setting several days per week.
